There are many good foundations in the market for all skin types and at all price points and it can be hard to find one that really suits. Here is a list of the ones I find to be the best. I´ll update the list as I find new great products.
Please remember the difference between dry and dehydrated skin; it will help you to make good choices.
Foundations for dry to normal skin
Mac Face and Body – Face and Body is just fabulous. It´s very light but buildable so you can decide to have it almost as a tinted moisturiser or get a stronger coverage. It has no SPF, so you don´t have to worry about flashback in photos.
Armani Luminous Silk Foundation – Absolutely gorgeous if your skin is in good condition. It will leave your skin glowing (not shiny, just glowing). Just one thing, in my experience, if you have flakey skin it will cling to any flakey bits and make them more evident. Another one with no SPF
Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua – Gorgeous, luminous, lightweight, perfect for a light day makeup. SPF 15
Clinique Supermoisture Makeup – It has very good coverage, it is very creamy and moisturising. No SPF
Foundations for normal to combination skin
Makeup Forever HD Foundation – This foundation was designed for high definition TV and photography and it does look amazing. The range of colours, same as in Mac foundations, is brilliant, there is one for everybody, Perfect for brides. No SPF
Lancome Teint Miracle – Love it. It has medium coverage, another one that will leave you skin glowing with a silky finish. Also, if you are oily but only slightly you can use it. I used it on my wedding day and it was fabulous. SPF 15.
Bare Minerals – One of my best friends uses it all the time and loves it. It is perfect for sensitive skin. SPF 15
Foundations for oily skin
Mac Studio Fix Fluid – My absolutely favourite for oily skin. It keeps your skin shine free for hours and it still looks nice at the end of the day. SPF15
Clinique Superbalance – I used this foundation for a very long time. It is fantastic, my only but is that the range of colours might not suit everyone but if they have your colour go for it! Very good for sensitive skin too. It moisturisers and controls oil. No SPF
Lancome Teint Idole – The oily skin version of Teint Miracle. My mother (who has oilier skin than I do) used t for my wedding and it looked amazing on her. It lasts all day. SPF15
